Conference Hall of the Episcopal Seminary – “Giovanni XXIII” – via Arena n°11, Bergamo
Psychoanalysis faces the challenges of postmodern society: new settings, models and perspectives to navigate complexity.
Conference Hall of the Episcopal Seminary – “Giovanni XXIII” – via Arena n°11, Bergamo
From 23 to 26 October 2024
Never before have we witnessed such a constant mutation of society and the paradigms to which we were used to: between wars, climatic and social emergencies, global pandemics, it seems to be increasingly difficult to define one's own identity and to find adequate affective, cognitive and relational tools to meet the other in a satisfactory and non-conflictual way.
In this context, psychoanalysis can and must play a central role both as a clinical tool capable of taking care of the different forms of psychic and existential suffering both as a "reflective function" in the infinite complexity of social phenomena, and as a model of a “being in the world” which is ethically and scientifically grounded.
We hope to propose a pluralistic but psychoanalytically labelled space-time setting within which we can compare, discuss and deepen the clinical and training experiences required and shaped by the new, persistent, sometimes not "classically" classifiable discontents and illnesses of our civilization.
For this reason, we envision an event that can be a space of encounter and shared experience. An ideal bridge between the different scientific experiences and cultures that make up and enrich the IFPS, in the first place, but which at the same time allows us to look “elsewhere”, in the certainty that meeting and “contamination” are indispensable creative needs for the psychoanalyst living in the contemporary world.
Registrations are open! Don’t be caught unprepared, the conference will start in:
We have therefore identified some main axes along which we would like to bring together the papers that will be proposed, leaving space, as usual, to free communications.
Dynamic constructs and endless training
The disintegrated society
